30sqn ATC

Thanks for your interest in No. 30 (Hobsonville) Squadron Air Training Corps. The Air Training Corps (ATC) is a youth organisation with a military 'flavour' for youth, both male and female, aged 13 to 18 years old.

To be eligible to join you must be between the ages of 13 - 15, or 12 and starting High School in 2019. We parade (meet) on a Thursday nights during the school term from 6:30pm to 9:30pm on RNZAF Base Auckland, Whenuapai, and follow up our Thursday night training with weekend camps and activities- some of which are compulsary for cadets to attend.

We recruit once a year from November to February and hold an Open Day in December. On this open day we invite potential recruits and their parents along to one of our two presentation times to look at the Squadron, view a short presentation, talk with current cadets and ask questions of our staff. We require anyone wishing to attend the open day to register their interest beforehand so that we can ensure your access too and from Base Auckland. All new recruits start in Term 1 of the new school year.

We recommend having a read of the 'Cadet Handbook' which is available in the link below, this will answer many basic questions and give both parents and potential cadets an idea of what we do, how things operate, and what they will get from joining No. 30 Squadron. For those who wish to attend the Open Day please email us via the link below, or call on a Thursday night and we will email the information about the presentation times and further enrolment details to you.

If you wish to visit the Squadron on a Thursday night during the school term outside of our Open Day in December, then you will need to phone or email two weeks in advance so we can advise base security of your intended visit and ensure that there is someone available to speak with you during your visit.
